We recognize it is impossible to prevent all accidents, medical emergencies and criminal activity. Response is the third pillar where all our preparations and training can result in mitigation of injuries and fatalities depending on the situation.
-Response begins with early recognition an incident may be taking place
-Clear communication and information flow is crucial
-Policies and procedures/guidelines must be followed
-Response best practices and plans must be learned, trained, and integrated into the operation of the ministry prior to a response need.
-The most common incident a safety/security team will respond to is medical emergency.
- Response should be practiced through reality based training and simulations with professional evaluators
- After Action Reviews should be held after all incidents to identify what worked well and any changes that should be made related to
preparation or prevention.
